We happened to go to The Ritz Carlton for lunch this week, and they have a beautiful show running at The Market (their all-day dining restaurant), where their star cast boasts of the most delicious seasonal soups, salads and an exclusive sorbet station that gives Candyland a run for its money!
Apart from their usual pan-asian, indian, and meat/cheese stations, this was honestly what caught our eye, and the fact that it’s going to be available for only the next 2 weeks made it even more tempting to the taste buds! Hence, we couldn’t help ourselves but have a hearty 3 course meal of just these.
What We Ate
1) Soups – The vegetarian South Indian rasam based one was interesting and definitely tasty, but we couldn’t stop ourselves from finishing a whole bowl of their Pork & Barley soup that could may as well be a meal by itself!
2) Salads (above) – They had an amazing mix of veg and non-veg, but the ones that stood out had to be their lovely Okra & Babycorn salad and their juicy and succulent almost oriental prawn salad.
Other than these, the chef served up 2 absolute gems (below) that we couldn’t stop eating. A Caprese Salad with an interesting twist by the chef, where you can have your mozzarella cheese with not one, not two but 4 different kinds of tomatoes hand-picked from their organic garden and a gorgeous classic Caesar Salad topped with a perfectly cooked quail egg sunny-side up.
3) Sorbet (and Dessert) – Even though the sorbet station was more than enough to have one’s fill, we couldn’t resist sampling their decadent dessert spread (below) as well.
…and as for the Sorbet Station, we went a bit crazy trying to choose our flavour (ranging from Pumpkin, Beetroot, to Brandy and Pecan Nut!) they had so many interesting concoctions. Finally, our masterpiece consisted of Green Apple & Mint Sorbet topped with cherry compote and dry fruit (below).
All in all, we were left with our taste buds tingling and having to go back to office on a Monday afternoon with our tummies refusing to believe it wasn’t Sunday. x
