Beauty Talk – Chubby Sticks or ColorBurst?

For our first beauty post, we are featuring our favourite lip products – moisturising lip balms. Today, the contestants are ‘Chubby sticks’ by Clinique (high end brand) and ‘COLOURBURST’ balms by Revlon (drug store brand.) Here is our comparison, so let the battle begin!

First up are the infamous chubby sticks, which have been a make up favourite for years. They’re moisturising balms with lip colour, which work well on dry lips thanks to the mango and shea butters (yum!). They come in 16 shades ranging from natural nudes to bright and bold pinks and reds. If you’re looking for a lip product that has good moisture and gives you a slight amount of colour, then this is the product to go for! However if you want something a little more pigmented and matte, then keep reading 😉

imageOn that note, let’s talk about Revlon’s ‘COLORBURST’ moisturising balms that are made with a Triple Butter Complex. Even though Clinique is a superior brand, just seeing the ColorBurst colours makes us squeal like little girls! This line of balms have three different collections – the balm stains, lacquer balms and matte balms. Each collection has 10 shades, so 30 in total! Lip colour heaven, much?!

The balm stain, in our opinion, is the closest comparison to the chubby sticks because of the lightweight colour. For the girls who like high shine on their lips, go for the lacquer balms. Lastly, the matte balms are perfect if you’re looking for vibrant colours that gives you a bold lip.

The Clinique chubby sticks are definitely worth the money, although we love Revlon as an alternative, especially because of their drool-worthy range of colours.

If you know any other alternatives, we would love to hear from you!
