All Mexed up!

Remember Chili’s? Old Airport Road? Near Papa Johns? Ring a bell?? If you loved it, you need to revisit this joint in Orion Mall, Yeshwanthpur. If you didn’t, you’ll love it now.

What set this Chili’s apart from their previous outlet in the city is their lovely terrace area with an open air bar along with a breath taking view. The ambience is set just right for a lovely evening of weekend margaritas.

They’ve totally revamped their classic menu with more mainstream dishes that have the perfect Mex twist to them.

What We Had:

No points for guessing what drink we ordered.. the margaritas! Except these just weren’t ANY margarita. They were as big as your face margaritas!

They were deliciously yummy and for the ‘not fans of tequila’ people, these run real smooth.

For appetizers, they have such a vast array of fried calories, that it just made sense to go for their Triple Dipper (choose any 3 appetisers on the menu and make your own platter).

We ordered the Big Mouth Bites (extreme right), Chicken Crispers (top left) and the Paneer Bites (bottom left), along with 3 classic Mexican dips to go with them.

None of them failed to surprise us, and amuse our taste buds. Although the Crispers were a bit heavy on the oil, the Big Mouth and Paneer Bites more than made up for it. The Big Mouth had the juiciest and most tender piece of beef patty that melted in your mouth while devouring this mini burger. But, the show was surprisingly stolen by the veggie dish of the lot. The Paneer Bite was soft, cripsy and we were amused when we bit into it and it had cheese oozing out with a slight tinge of jalapeños. This truly can’t be described, and just needs to be experienced.

For main course, we expected tacos, quesadillas, burritos and the sorts and were pleasantly taken aback when we were suggested the Orange Habanero Salmon and the Baby Back Ribs (both below).

They of course had a distinctive Mexican twist such as habanero dressing with honey on the fish, and replacing BBQ sauce with tangy Mex chill sauce on the ribs.

This first ever food festival organised by Chili’s has been running since the 3rd and is on till the 20th of March. With more than nine new or signature dishes and nearly 25 different preparations, this one’s a must for any Mexican foodie! x
