Mix one of the best cuisines in the world, with the newest food rage and what do you get? A beautiful French food truck on the streets of Bangalore.
We spoke to the brain behind the operation (or should we say le cerveau), Nicolas Grossemy (Director & Co-Founder of Le Casse-Croûte), and here’s what we had to say:
What made you want to truck in Bangalore?
Food trucks are quite famous in France and we felt that it’s gonna be trendy really soon in India and we wanted to be part of this wave. We had first thought of opening a cafe with a cool atmosphere. Since we faced many issues with that, we finally decided to start a food truck which is much more personal now.
We’re sure you were very inspired?
Yes we were. We started working on this last November since seeing Spitfire and Square Ruth (one of the first few food trucks here in Bangalore). We thought we should change the typical vehicle and use a matador instead of Tempo Traveller and offer other stuff than the usual burgers.
So what can the Bangaloreans order?
We’ll be serving one pure veg (mozza and pesto) toasted sandwich, one veg with egg, and three non veg (bacon, chicken and praws).
There’s gazpacho, croques and creme de la creme to top it all off!
Why is this sandwich better?
We have worked hard for months to get the menu done, we’re doing everything homemade, we bake our bread every morning, we have created a special specific sauce (mayonnaise, pesto, aioli, ketchup, mustard, bechamel) for each sandwich that compliments it’s taste perfectly. They’re going to set us apart.

So for our vehicle enthusiasts, tell us more about the truck!
Our truck is a matador, the long van version. I don’t remember which model right now, but we got it in really bad state. Since we really wanted to be original and different from other trucks, we spent almost 9 months at the garage but we finally got what we really wanted. I can show you some pictures of the truck before the transformation.
Where and when do we find you when we’re hungry?
We will be operating for lunch and dinner from Monday 14th Sept. We’ll be sharing our location every day through our Facebook and Twitter (details below). What you can always count on is, we will be at Lavelle Road on Tuesdays as we have a arrangement with the store Crisp. So come say hello to us in their parking lot!
