Tucked in Luru’s landmark Highgates Hotel is a not-so-quaint glasshouse styled coffee & tea house. If you’ve already been here, you’ve defo felt the English vibe that hits you upon arriving at the lawn mailbox at the entrance.
We dawdled in on a Thursday late evening, for a cup of coffee and light bites.
What We Drank:
Natural Rosehip with Hibiscus (above) – So light, so translucent, so perfect. For not being a tea person, surprisingly enjoyed my cuppa. This tea got our palate totally going for what was next!
The Oreo Shake (below – right) – Extremely thick and creamy, perfect for oreo cookie lovers as you get these teeny tiny bits with every sip.
Cafe Mocha (below – left) – This would be ideal for a chocolate milkshake lover who also adores their cold coffee. Due to not having a sweet tooth, this tasted a bit too sugary and chocolatey for myliking (serves me right for being a coffee lover who tried to choco-fy their caffeine).
What We Ate:
Salad (above) – Chinese grilled chicken with crispy noodles and sprout salad (Huge portion, could be a meal on its own to be honest. Crunchy, fresh and yum!).
Light Bite – Chicken sliders (A definite re-order! The buns were soft and the chicken coated in pesto went beautifully with creamy mayo sauce)
Let’s step away from the food and drink for a bit though, because the design of this place deserves a bit of an applause. We absolutely love the look of the clean white, and the quirky sketches on the kitchen glass by the genius peeps at Lightbulb Inc.
They’ve even added nice touches to the crockery. Our absolutely fav was the mountain sketch on the tea cup that cheekily depicted ‘high tea’. Clever!
So the next time you’re strolling down Church Street, and need some peace and quiet… and tea… and scones, make your way to TWR xx
